Agosi Sustainability Information 2025: Review 2024 and Outlook

One of our main goals is to halve CO₂ emissions for Scope 1 and Scope 2 by 2030. Thanks to our switch to green electricity, we have already made remarkable progress.

In the base year 2019, our emissions were 4,672 tons CO₂e, while in the comparison year 2024 we achieved a reduction to 2,508 tons CO₂e – an impressive 46% savings.
The share of renewable energy in total energy consumption in 2024 is already 47%.

We have launched several ongoing projects to further reduce our carbon footprint:

Current Projects

Preparation of sweeps: Using more energy-efficient incinerators and utilizing exhaust heat for our heating system.
Savings potential: 70 tons CO₂ (fossil energy = oil). Completion by end of 2026.

Heating system: Connecting various building units into a local heating network.
Savings potential: 45 tons CO₂ (fossil energy = oil). Completion by end of 2026.

Process optimization for residues from wet refining: Eliminating the drying process of hydroxide sludge.
Savings potential: 80 tons CO₂ (fossil energy = gas). Implementation planned from 2026.

Additional Measures

Optimization of the silver dissolution process: Reduce nitric acid consumption by 30%.
Implementation planned from mid-2026.

Water Reduction Projects

Conversion of part of the wastewater system: Switching from mains water to internal circulation water.
Expected annual savings: at least 200 m³ of mains water. Implementation from end of 2026.
